Hybrid density functional theory method is applied for investigating the diradical character dependence of the second hyperpolarizability (gamma) of square planar nickel complexes involving several types of bidentate ligands [o-C6H4XY, where X = Y = O, NH, S, Se, and PH as well as (X, Y) = (NH, NH2) and (S, NH2)]. It is found that, as a function of the donor atoms, the diradical character of these complexes varies from 0.0 to 0.884 and is associated with substantial variations of gamma ranging from 14 x 10(3) to 819 x 10(3) au. In particular, the largest gamma values are associated with intermediate diradical characters in good agreement with the structure-property relationship obtained for pure hydrocarbon systems. Increasing the electronegativity of the X and Y donor groups of the ligands leads to larger diradical characters as a result of the enhancement of the double bond nature of the C=X(Y) bonds, which further stabilizes the diradicals on both-end benzene rings. This demonstrates that the electronegativities of the donor atoms of the ligands become a tuning parameter of the diradical character and then of the gamma values of these complexes.  相似文献

We describe in full the first synthesis of the potent insect antifeedant azadirachtin through a highly convergent approach. An O-alkylation reaction is used to unite decalin ketone and propargylic mesylate fragments, after which a Claisen rearrangement constructs the central C8-C14 bond in a stereoselective fashion. The allene which results from this sequence then enables a second critical carbon-carbon bond forming event whereby the [3.2.1] bicyclic system, present in the natural product, is generated via a 5-exo-radical cyclisation process. Finally, using knowledge gained through our early studies into the reactivity of the natural product, a series of carefully designed steps completes the synthesis of this challenging molecule.  相似文献

A peptide-modified electrode array with a different peptide on each electrode is compared with a single electrode modified with many peptides for the voltammetric measurement of concentrations of Cu(2+), Cd(2+) and Pb(2+) in solution. The single gold electrode was modified simultaneously with peptides Gly-Gly-His, glutathione and angiotensin I each coupled to thioctic acid, and thioctic acid itself, and the calibration of mixtures of ions was compared with previously published data from an array of four sensors each with an individual modification. Calibration at the multi-peptide single-electrode sensor was by two-way partial least squares (voltammetric current measured with variables 'sample' x 'potential') and for the electrode array by three-way NPLS1 ('sample' x 'potential' x 'electrode'). The advantage of designing experiments to yield multi-way data is demonstrated and discussed.  相似文献

A series of alternating 3,4‐ethylenedioxythiophene–alkynylpyridine oligomers (DA)n with increased solubility are synthesized and their photophysical properties and nonlinear optical properties are investigated. Their quadratic polarizabilities are determined from hyper‐Rayleigh scattering experiments to obtain information on their conformations in solution. These chromophores, based on the alternation of electron‐rich (D) and electron‐deficient (A) moieties, exhibit optical properties that arise from the combination of dipolar and helicoidal features in the (DA)n homologue series where n=1–4. The transition from dipolar conjugated planar structures (n=1, 2) to helicoidal structures (n=3, 4) is clearly evidenced by results from symmetry‐sensitive second‐order nonlinear optical experiments. This suggests an approach towards highly efficient chiral chromophores for second‐order nonlinear optics. Interestingly, this structural evolution also has significant impact on the photophysical properties: both absorption and fluorescence emission show bathochromic and hyperchromic shifts with increasing number of repeating units in the dipolar planar derivatives (n=1–2) but show saturation effects in the helicoidal structures (n=2–4). In addition, the helicoidal structures show sizeable two‐photon absorption at 700–750 nm (40–100 GM) for compounds lacking either electron‐donating or electron‐withdrawing substituents.  相似文献

The synthesis of a variety of arabinose derivatives that have been modified at C-5 was achieved from d-arabinose. The 5-fluoro and 5-methoxy compounds were converted into the corresponding farnesyl phosphodiesters as putative chain terminators of mycobacterial arabinan biosynthesis. Biological testing of these materials revealed no effective anti-mycobacterial activity.  相似文献

In the field of FTIR spectroscopy, the far infrared (FIR) spectral region has been so far less investigated than the mid-infrared (MIR), even though it presents great advantages in the characterization of those inorganic compounds, which are inactive in the MIR, such as some art pigments, corrosion products, etc. Furthermore, FIR spectroscopy is complementary to Raman spectroscopy if the fluorescence effects caused by the latter analytical technique are considered. In this paper, ATR in the FIR region is proposed as an alternative method to transmission for the analyses of pigments. This methodology was selected in order to reduce the sample amount needed for analysis, which is a must when examining cultural heritage materials. A selection of pigments have been analyzed in both ATR and transmission mode, and the resulting spectra were compared with each other. To better perform this comparison, an evaluation of the possible effect induced by the thermal treatment needed for the preparation of the polyethylene pellets on the transmission spectra of the samples has been carried out. Therefore, pigments have been analyzed in ATR mode before and after heating them at the same temperature employed for the polyethylene pellet preparation. The results showed that while the heating treatment causes only small changes in the intensity of some bands, the ATR spectra were characterized by differences in both intensity and band shifts towards lower frequencies if compared with those recorded in transmission mode. All pigments' transmission and ATR spectra are presented and discussed, and the ATR method was validated on a real case study. Using density functional theory (DFT) with the B3LYP, PBE, and PBE0 exchange-correlation functionals as well as the Moller-Plesset second-order perturbation theory (MP2) combined with a series of rather extended basis sets, 1H and 13C chemical shifts of small alkanes and chloroalkanes (with different numbers of chlorine atoms on specific positions) have been simulated and compared to experimental data. For the 1H chemical shifts, theory tends to reproduce experiment within the limits of the experimental errors. In the case of 13C chemical shift, the differences between theory and experiment increase monotonically with the number of chlorine atoms and exhibit a deviation from additivity. This behavior is related to the saturation of the experimental 13C chemical shifts with the number of chlorine atoms, whereas the evolution is mostly linear at both DFT and MP2 levels of approximation. This difference has been traced back to the relativistic spin-orbit coupling effects, which are exalted as a result of the enhancement of the s character of the C atom when increasing the number of linked Cl atoms. Thus, it was demonstrated that not only electron correlation but also relativistic effects have to be considered for estimating the 13C chemical shifts when several Cl atoms are directly attached to the C atom. Linear (theory/experiment) regressions have then been performed for the different types of C atoms, i.e., bearing one, two, and three Cl atoms, with excellent correlation coefficients. The linear correlation relationships so obtained can then serve to predict and facilitate the interpretation of the nuclear magnetic resonance spectra of more complex compounds. Furthermore, by investigating the basis set effects, the correlation between the chemical shifts calculated using the 6-311 + G(2d,p) basis set and the more extended 6-311 + G(2df,p) and aug-cc-pvtz basis sets is excellent, demonstrating that the choice of the 6-311 + G(2d,p) basis set for calculating the 1H and 13C chemical shifts is relevant.  相似文献

A very highly sensitive and highly selective liquid chromatographic/tandem mass spectrometric (LC/MS/MS) method was developed to evaluate and quantify a new drug candidate in different biological matrices. Following a simple plasma protein precipitation using acetonitrile, the post-treatment samples were analyzed on a C18 column interfaced with a new generation of triple-quadrupole mass spectrometer. The recently introduced triple-quadrupole mass spectrometer, the TSQ Quantum Ultra, with enhanced mass-resolution capability, demonstrated improved sensitivity (0.05 ng/mL), coupled with suitable accuracy and precision, over a broad linear dynamic range (0.05-1000 ng/mL). A comparison of the assay performance data (dynamic range, calibration curve equation, precision and accuracy) of the enhanced resolution method against a unit resolution method under optimized conditions showed the performance improvement of the enhanced mass resolution method for bioanalytical high-throughput applications. The enhanced mass resolution method herein described was successfully applied to the evaluation of the pharmacokinetic profile of a new drug candidate in rat, rabbit and dog plasma samples.  相似文献

This study illustrates the entrapment of the dye molecule fluorescein sodium salt (FSS) by hydrogel nanoparticles, which are in turn confined inside a water-in-oil-in-water double-emulsion globule, and its subsequent release by the action of the competing agent hydrochloric acid (HCl). Thus, a "double carrier" concept is being introduced in which a nanoscale delivery vehicle is being transported by a microscale delivery vehicle in order to simultaneously take advantage of both systems. This may facilitate storage and handling while protecting the active substance and improving its action upon application.  相似文献
